PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

A_Randall_09_2007_1.JPGAn energetic young team has recently worked assiduously to update and modernise the website of the Old Harrisonian Society (OHS) which I take great pleasure in welcoming you to.

The OHS, a registered charity, is established to:

  1. Foster friendly relationships between members
  2. Assist Harrison College by the provision or improvement of facilities
  3. Promote the welfare of the College
  4. Encourage social fellowship between members
We at the OHS are committed to these objectives. With the help of our past students and friends, we have raised significant funds to:
  • Pave the driveway of the College;
  • Build a Commemorative Wall;
  • Computerise the mechanism of the War Memorial Clock;
  • Provide the Music Department with new instruments; and
  • Refurbish the E. W. “Heads” Marshall pavilion.
Our work does not stop there. Each year we make contributions to provide scholarships to past and present students, purchase athletic trophies, assist members who have fallen on hard times, acquire books for the College library, purchase computers and assist student organised clubs. We also promote fellowship between our entire Harrison College family by hosting a number of events including our ever popular family barbecue, sports activities and lime during Founder’s Week, an Awards Dinner and our fast growing Christmas Party. In 2008, Harrison College commemorated its 275th Anniversary with activities and events planned throughout the year by both the College and the OHS.

To all those who wish to get involved in the work of our Society, please let us know and we will provide further information

Please do browse the site at your leisure. Your suggestions for improvement of the website and overall comments are more than welcome.

Adrian J L Randall
