The Crown of Merit - is made in two grades: the Gold Crown of Merit (GCM) and the Silver Crown of Merit (SCM): for high meritorious service or achievement in Science, the Arts, Literature, Sport, Civic duties or any other endeavour worthy of national recognition.
BSM
The Barbados Service Award - is made in two grades: the Barbados Service Star (BSS) and the Barbados Service Medal (BSM): for meritorious work in the civil, fire, military, police, prison or other protective services or in any similar field or endeavour.
Congratulations also to Mr. Anthony Newton who has been appointed QC.
GOVERNOR-GENERAL SIR CLIFFORD HUSBANDS has been made a bencher of Middle Temple.
He is the first Barbadian to be given this honour, which was conferred on June 12, 2007 in Britain.
Sir Clifford, by virtue of seniority, has succeeded to a stall reserved for Knights Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, in the chapel of the Order in St Paul's Cathedral. He visited the cathedral and viewed the name plate affixed to the stall while in London.
